E&E recognizes that every human being experiences varying degrees of exile and captivity over a lifetime. We accept works that identify and critique the very social constructs that, for better or worse, are functioning in the world and perpetuating cycles of behavior that are, in the classic sense, capable of both good and evil results. 

E&E seeks content that deconstructs cultural semiotics and rhetorically analyzes the signals of the world at large through a social-emotional lens. Of particular interest is the perspective of those who have endured maltreatment within social relationships, including but not limited to family, marriage, and community, as well as educational institutions, church and religious organizations, and welfare agencies, yet they have maintained a strong sense of self. 

Primarily psychoanalytic in its approach towards social constructs, E&E accepts a variety of works that grasp for truth and meaning while illuminating the inner realm of human experience. We publish works on a range of topics from all locations, backgrounds, and faiths, as long as the work contains a redemptive theme that edifies our readers.
